⚡️Hey everyone, for my next booking cycle I’m going to be implementing some changes. Specific dates and updates will be posted soon. For now I’m still accepting appointments as normal for July/August. Here’s why: Up until now I have tried to keep my scheduling process relatively casual and convenient by accepting DM’s and scheduling online. I have never taken cash deposits. I don’t love the idea of prepayment or the hassle of making clients come to the studio prior to their appointment date, especially for my clients that travel from other states or long distances to get tattooed by me. To make myself more accessible I have done all my inquiries, consultations, and scheduling online. If you have scheduled an appointment with me in the past you’d know that even though I haven’t required cash deposits I still have a cancellation policy in place via my Square system to ensure my time and work are respected. It has now happened on numerous occasions that I have been completely no call-no showed or canceled on last minute and the client has intentionally removed their information or deleted their profile from Square to prevent me from being able to collect cancellation fees. These people have no idea how damaging that is for me. Tattoo artists are not employees. I don’t get a paycheck. My income comes solely from my clients hands at the end of a tattoo session. So to get ghosted with no deposit as a safety net can mean that I don’t have the money I was counting on for groceries that week. Studio rent still has to be paid for the day out of my pocket. I think about tattooing, and my clients, and how I can create awesome experiences for everyone 24/7. I don’t get paid for the countless hours leading up to an appointment that I spend communicating back and forth, researching, conceptualizing and drawing each tattoo after an already long day of tattooing. I don’t get paid for the time and attention that I have to sacrifice giving to my family when I am home and have work to do. (Continued in comments..👇🏽)
