LIL NAS X CAN START SOME SHIT

Lil Nas X Tattoos, the Montero Symbol, and a Guy Who Doesn’t Give the Internet Much Time to Recover

Lil Nas X releases a music video and sparks half the internet into arguing. The other half starts defending him, and I know there was a marketing executive in the background stressing the fuck out, wondering is this good or not?!

He’s appeared sporting elaborate body art that was temporary, and back in June 2022, he admitted he was afraid of getting an actual tattoo. LOL! The man had no problem making headlines with some outrageous productions, but he wasn’t in a hurry to let a needle anywhere near his skin.

That changed in November 2022 during a stop in Barcelona, Spain, where he got his first tattoo. A little symbol on his right wrist connected to his Montero album. This is an example of how musicians, or “magicians” ……… Magicians is an inside joke. If you’re reading this, that was for you, because you always gravitate to the wrong word, lol. Anyways, they use tattoos to carry their own creative identities beyond the stage. Album artwork, logos, lyrics, and visual symbols can become tattoo designs for the artists themselves and their fans. Of course, the tattoo artist still has to execute the design, blah blah blah, even if the client is famous enough to have an entire production crew following him around.

I can’t confirm how many permanent tattoos Lil Nas X has today, but if I decide to write a more in-depth article, I’ll have to do the deep dive fact check thing. So, TBC!

If you’re looking at music-inspired tattoos or planning your first piece, Inker gives you a place to check out tattoo artists and their work. Take a look at their portfolios, talk about the design, and ask whatever questions you’ve got before you sit down. Nobody needs to act fearless to qualify for a tattoo.
